If you recall, when I started this blo
g my first post was about my grandfather. Since his passing earlier this year, I’ve been trying to figure out what I could do to honor him. I wanted to to something that my entire family could be a part of and the youngest in my family is my nephew Lawson, he’s three. And I wanted to do something that he would want to participate in if he were still with us. Well…I think I’ve finally come up with a project that everyone can participate in and I would really like for you to be a part of this project as well.
My niece Isabelle has agreed to be my co-chair and we’re kicking off our L.B. Roane: Letters to
the troops campaign. This project is simple we want to collect as many letters as we can for our troops overseas in the next 5 weeks. All you need to do is write a letter or draw a picture and send it to us here:
LB Roane: Letters to the troops
P.O. Box 5606
Alpharetta, GA 30023
And Isabelle and I will do the rest, we’ll bundle up your letters and send them to our troops who are serving so courageously in Afghanistan and Iraq. We’ve learned that our troops treasure letters from stateside just as much as they did in my grandfather’s day. We’re excited about this project because we feel like no one is too young or too old to get involved. So take a minute and send us your letter today….we’ll need it by December 11,2009 to get them to our troops for the holiday. Check back here often, we’ll keep you posted on our progress!
